Passive Voice
ACTIVE / PASSIVE VOICE. In most English sentences with an action
verb, the subject performs the action denoted by the verb.
These examples shoe that the subject is doing the verb's action.
Because the subject does or "acts upon" the verb is such sentences,
the sentences are said to be in the active voice.
Simple Present Tense
1. Active : Indonesia needs many powerful young men.
Passive : Many powerful young men are needed by
Indonesia.
2. Active : She post the story everday .
Passive : The story is posted everday by her.
3. Active : The teacher teaches English once a week.
Passive : English is teached by teacher once a week.
4. Active : We do exercises everday.
Passive : The exercises is done by our everyday .
5. Active : The professor plan the rice at the top of the building.
Passive : The rice is planted by the professor at the top of building.
Simple Past Tense
1. Active : The student created the blogs yesterday.
Passive : The blogs was created by the students yesterday.
2. Active : The principal told the students to be good students.
Passive : The students was told by the principal to be good students.
3. Active : Many singers sang the song.
Passive : The song was sang by many singers.
4. Active : She typed the letter last night.
Passive : The letter was typed by her last night.
5. Active : We left the gate open.
Passive : The gate was left open by us
